Forest Christenson is a composer of motion picture and television scores in Los Angeles who has also worked extensively as an additional music composer with a filmography that includes The Last Of Us, Aquaman, and Abominable. Forest is also known for his work as a scoring mixer, mixing projects such as Wonder Woman, The Crown, and Back To The Outback. Forest’s credits as a composer include documentary film Grandpa Was An Emperor, Sri Lankan arthouse film House of my Fathers, and Korean sci-fi series Sisyphus.

Forest was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. His parents started him on violin at the age of 4, but he was never one for practicing the assigned repertoire. Instead, he would spend more time experimenting with odd sounds, and bring new compositions in to play for his teachers during his lessons. In his teen years and early twenties, Forest was a founding member and drummer in several bands that found varying degrees of success - notable among them “chamber rock” trio Pretty Balanced, which toured multiple times in the US and UK. In 2009, Forest joined forces with fellow composer/musician John Also Bennett to form the experimental synth duo Seabat.

In 2010, Forest moved to New York to pursue a film scoring master's degree at NYU, during which time he was inspired by collaborations with experimental music and sound artists such as Maria Chavez, Lea Bertucci, and Christina Vantzou, and took a job at Academy Award-winning media company DuArt as an in-house composer and engineer. In 2013 Forest released a dreampop album entitled Eternal Prom under an eponymous pseudonym.

In 2015 Forest took an engineering position at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions, an invaluable and intensive experience that culminated with his mixing Wonder Woman alongside score mixer Alan Meyerson. During this time he also began releasing ambient music under the pseudonym Forest Walker. From 2017 to 2022 he worked as composing and technical assistant to composer Rupert Gregson-Williams. In 2022, Forest launched his independent studio, Overstory Music, a 5.1 room in West Hollywood, CA, focused on film and TV score composition and mixing.
